Noble and analytical, Sapphire dragons are natural philosophers and seekers of truth. They sport a spine resplendent in smooth starry gems, which gather at the tip of a mace-like tail and around the joints. Sleek scales protect the underside, and their expressive faces feature delicate spines encircling the eyes. A spike on each brow and the top of the snout compliment two sets of sturdy horns that crown the head. As this little one has discovered, their methodical quest for knowledge can lead young Sapphire dragons face-first into unexpected findings. Part of the Gem Dragonlings, a series of baby dragons based on precious gemstones and a companion collection to The Dragonlings Series. This 11 x 14 inch horizontally-oriented print of the original graphite illustration is reproduced on 100# velvet finish paper, for a matte effect that captures the spirit of the original work. Individually hand signed, editioned, and numbered in gold ink by the artist. Shipped in a sealed clear protective sleeve with a sturdy backing board.
